Buchanan – Entergy will be conducting a security response exercise at the Indian Point Energy Center on June 17 beginning around 7 a.m. and continuing through around 5 p.m. The exercise will involve local, state and federal law enforcement and emergency service responders, and others. During the drill local residents may see police vehicles responding to Indian Point.

“We are taking steps to notify the public now that they may see emergency service and police vehicles near Indian Point so there is no undue alarm caused by this exercise,” said Joe Pollock, IPEC’s site vice president and top Entergy official at the plant.

Local law enforcement agencies have been informed of or are participating in the event.

The event, an Integrated Pilot Comprehensive Exercise (IPCE), is a multi-agency effort intended to enhance how federal, state and local law enforcement work together with site security personnel to prepare for responding to a security incident at the plant. Some of the organizations participating in the exercise include NRC, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, New York State Police and Westchester County Police Department.
